OTTAWA -- Canada's cops are backing an MP's bid to license and regulate Internet providers, and hold them more responsible for keeping porn and pedophiles off-line.
New Democrat Chris Axworthy's bill, backed by the Canadian Police Association, would require providers to be licensed by the CRTC.
It would make it a crime for a provider to knowingly allow child porn to be distributed on its service, or to provide access to convicted pedophiles or persons known to have been connected to child porn on the Internet within the previous seven years
