School punishes boy for racist Web site

Charlottetown (CP) -- A 12-year-old boy has been suspended from school for setting up a racist Web site and telling classmates to see it.

The student at Stonepark school in Charlottetown will be allowed to return next week only if he demonstrates an understanding and willingness to adhere to school rules.

"I think the important thing is we have been having ongoing discussions with the student since the incident", David McCabe, superintendent of the Eastern School District, said Friday.

McCabe said counselling is available to students who may feel victimized by the incident.
