Internet police work leads to arrest in porn case

EDMONTON -- An Edmonton police investigation into the distribution of child pornography began with a tip from German Federal Police doing detective work over the Internet.

The German detectives were conducting an undercover on-line investigation when they came upon a suspicious file server in Edmonton.

The Internet tip led to the arrest of 21-year-old Samuel Settle. He has been accused of possessing and distributing child pornography and will appear in Edmonton provincial court July 22.

A computer system containing photographs and video clips of children has been seized.

Last month a Calgary man was arrested after a similar Internet investigation involving German police.
